Stree (2018) – The strange town of Chanderi is haunted by a unique myth. The ghost of an angry woman stalks men during a festive period. This legend simply referred to as “Stree” calls out for men when they are alone and sweep them away leaving their clothes behind. A tailor in Chanderi, Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) falls head over heels with a mysterious girl (Shraddha Kapoor) who only appears during festival season. Her frequent disappearing acts makes his friends suspicious about her and they start believing that she could be the Stree who is haunting the city for short. After one of Vicky’s friends disappear, Vicky attempts to find out more about this myth. He comes across a book in Rudra’s library which tells him a story but finds that some of the pages are missing. He notices a picture from the book and realizes that he knows that place. He visits that place with Rudra and his friend Bittu to find out more about her story. Stree attacks Vicky but is driven away by the mysterious girl Vicky met. On their way back, Vicky’s lost friend is recovered who behaves abnormally upon returning. The next morning, more men are disappeared from the doings of this recovered friend. Vicky’s mysterious girlfriend suppresses him. They attempt to find out more about Stree by meeting the author of the book, who tells them a riddle pointing to a savior, which is later discovered to be Vicky. The gang tries to kill Stree but Vicky leaves her after cutting a bunch of her hair, rendering her powerless. Vicky’s mysterious girlfriend is seen at the bus stop the next day, where Vicky finds her and bids her farewell, without asking her name. While on the bus, the mysterious girl is seen carrying that bunch of hair which she places with the rest of her hair and disappears from the bus.
